Do we know how many members the new YG girl group is going to have? I hope he doesn't try to re-create or start a new 2NE1. I wouldn't be too surprised though, since I can't see him doing anything else. It's not like YG would release a girl group with a cute concept. Although that could be interesting.

Eh, I'd disagree with that.
Perhaps not "generic", but definitely trend-hopping. The music has been alright so I don't particularly care, but it's clear that YG's new approach of marketing his acts in a way that makes them seem authentic is obviously pandering to the GP.

That's not to undermine his acts, because they're genuinely talented and have good music, but obviously what the GP are into plays a heavy part in what YG acts release.

He has said many times he wants it to be another Girls' Generation, so I would imagine like 6/7 at least? I'm here for a big girlgroup to slay concepts that aren't cute.

Maybe not 9, but I'd be here for 7 at the most. And I didn't mean by that that I want him to do a cute concept, I just hope that they're not too same-y to the kind of hip-hop/pop crossover pretty much all YG acts are, with the exception of AKMU.

Well it's a mainstream business sis. He's not an indie label, so of course embracement of trends is going to happen. Either way, very few agencies do them like YG. Even if the sound is somewhat generic, the delivery isn't
