It antagonizes me when these fools argue that the album "isn't" enough Shakira. They only expect her to make songs that sound like La Tortura, Loca and HDL. As long as it has some Latin influences, it's the real "Shakira". They have no idea who she truly is. It's hard to believe that they get paid to say such things and ignorant people out there will believe it.

I'm glad they changed the direction. Dance stuff is cool but I think She Wolf was enough in that area. Besides, I don't think that fits her quite as well (if we're talking EDM type dance). The album came out perfectly imo, it has a little bit of everything...some dance, rock, reggae, country, pop, etc.

I agree. Her first breakout stuff was very alt/pop/rock, kinda reminds me of stuff like the Cranberries. People don't really know how much variety she covers.

lol I bet if people reviewed it now it would get MUCH better reviews.

I remember reading stuff about the reviews for it, and it was saying how a lot of critics thought her lyrics got ~lost in translation~ and didn't come across as well in English. Her English lyrics can be really weird sometimes but that's what I love about them....her style is so unique and easy to distinguish, you can tell she wrote a song just by seeing the lyrics.
