I was so sure OG or S&M would get a nomination for at least SOMETHING.
MTV execs are just chubby chasers this year

MTV can "say they like" Rihanna all day or put her all over the site but I beg to differ
Next year will be another round of snubs

As a song, I love it. I think it's a great, unique sound for her. I always loving hearing Rihanna play around with her caribbean roots. As a single, I think it's ****, and am highly annoyed with all the MD stans in here not knowing what the hell they're talking about, coming for CKB when it's clear which one is doing better.
I never was here for MD as a single. I said from the beginning that the only way it should ever be released is when they are ready to end the era as a gift to the fans - if even that. I knew all along it was a risky single and would be hit-or-miss. I'm also mad at Rihanna herself for having a lapse of judgement in listening to the onslaught of fans who blew up her twitter demanding her to release MD with CKB. The large majority of fans (of any artist) don't know what the hell they are talking about in terms of what should be a single.
Fans, and stans especially, are usually selfish and think just because they like the song the best, it should be released. Some songs (like MD and R101) were meant to be album songs. That doesn't mean they are bad, it just means they don't have single appeal. I still can't at people even humoring the idea of ever releasing LTWYL2, Complicated, or Skin. Stans need to learn to separate their favorite songs from what will bring the most success to Rihanna and the album. That to me is what separates a stan from a fan. A fan just likes the artist's music and wants to hear their favorite songs from the album on the radio and see it's video. A stan, on the other hand, wants whatever is best for the success of the artist and their album.
For instance, I loved loved loved Cold Case Love, and it was always in my Top 3 faves from Rated R. However, I never in my life wanted it to be a single because I knew damn well it would flop. Rude Boy was actually my least favorite from RR for a while (except for R101, obviously), and even though I thought it was seriously out of place on the album's tracklist, I always wanted it to be released as the 3rd single, because it has universal appeal, even if it isn't my favorite.

I agree.
Although I wouldn't have been against Cold Case Love as a single. Or Complicated.
I had a bad feeling about Man Down. And I'm also glad Fire Bomb was never released.

I know it sucks Loud songs didn't get any nominations...But we should really fight for that "All of the Lights" and "LTWYL" awards. We should help Kanye, Eminem and Kid Cudi fans...And if we win that awards they will still count for Rihanna too - just like 2 Grammys for Run This Town.
So.... http://www.mtv.com/ontv/vma/2011/best-hip-hop-vid... - All of the Lights............ http://www.mtv.com/ontv/vma/2011/best-male-video/ - here we should rather vote for LTWYL - it has bigger chance than AOTL .............. http://www.mtv.com/ontv/vma/2011/best-collaborati... - AOTL- the most important one ........we have also chance to win best cinematography-LTWYL, best direction-LTWYL and best editing-AOTL but we can't vote here...........BTW if AOTL wins that best collabo award, VMA will realise that Rihanna is big and should deserve her own nominations next year.
So vote NAVY.....

Well, I was definitely on the MD movement but that was only when we had to deal with CKB and MD being dual released...before that I was pro cheers. It's good to see CKB selling though.

Complicated could be a smash in Europe, that beat
And LTWYL part2 with a new video with Eminem would be amazing
I totally got your point but sometimes we can not really predict something correctly....

Ugh, I am so pissed at MTV.
Yes, its good that Rih got featured nominations. But I mean... not ONE nom for OG, WMN?, S&M, CKB or MD? I mean REALLY?
This is almost as big of an outrage as Rated R being snubbed at the Grammy's. Its so horrible.

Would you honestly be saying that if Rihanna got 9 nominations? This is like the facebook thing all over again, and I'm not sure if you were commenting in the "New Queen of Facebook" thread, but it sounds like what the Monsters were saying... "Facebook isn't important at all" now that someone else rules it.
And yeah, CKB is taking off! I can't believe it myself, from the start I thought that Man Down would be the more successful single in the US, and CKB for outside the US. But looks like CKB is headed towards being the successful worldwide single.

But Katy last album was in 2008... RIhanna had albums in 2007, release in 2008, next album 2009, next album 2010 and finally she's doing something for 2011 This is BIG different.

What are you even doing in here? You JUST said in the "Rihanna Hints at New music" thread that you are "So tired of her", and yet you go visit ANOTHER Rihanna thread!
Make up your mind!
