I don't think there's anything wrong with PMing people IF they've agreed in the past to support you throughout the competition. It's like the process of campaigning that politicians have to do. They gather supporters early on then look to those same people for support in the future when it comes time to vote.

I know. Last cycle we PMed a lot of people for votes, I only asked that because this "no wall posts" rule is something new. I was wondering if that also applies to the PMs.

Yeah, it was enacted after earlier in the cycle there were complaints about wall spamming.
