He didn't have a lot of WP's so it was clear he wasn't avoiding a real ban by requesting a shorter ban.
If you do have a lot of WP's, we only allow you to request a ban of at least a month.

It depends on how many Base threads you have already and if it's about an artist worth having a Base thread. Generally people either ask us if a Base thread is allowed or they create a thread and wait to see if it'll be closed.

I have only 7 WPs with 2 of them expiring today, and I can control myself to not get banned, so that was not the point. I was requesting a shorter ban because I had some personal stuff to take care of, but nevermind, don't ban me anymore.

I'm sorry, this is the way we've chosen to handle requested bans because a lot of people were in fact using requested bans to avoid a real ban. The saying "this is why we can't have nice things" applies well here. We cannot distinguish those who abuse the system from those who don't.
