Obama ran on a ticket that symbolically said "change is here, i want to lead that, vote for me and we can achieve that". Him, the first Black (mixed-raced for the non-jim crow fans) Presidential Candidate, with his BLACK family, would usher in a new era of change.
Here's where they ****ed up. Obama was simply neoliberalism personified. He was neither radical nor revolutionary nor progressive. Sure, he ratified the Gay Marriage stuff and a few things for Trans folks but thats literally because it was impossuble to not ratify it. Either way, he was the Black embodiement of Respectability Politics. Not once did he ever come out in support of Black folks, or even (lol) say the word BLACK in any speech.
You can claim none of his laws/policies was pushed through Congress but did he ever try to even implement anything Black-folk related? How can you get elected by relying on the support of millions of Black Voters, who saw YOU as their light in shining armour, who re-elected you 4 years later, but did NOTHING to ease Black Poverty, Black reliance on food stamps etc. etc.
But he's cool innit and nicey-nicey with your fave artist and whatever.
Also miss me with that what about other minorities cause i dont care about them
