I just sat through Barbadian Toxin again (well 2 minutes of it anyway), and I think the song might be flopping simply because it's horrible. It doesn't even sound like it's finished, let alone single material. It's not catchy, enlightening, emotional, or really evoking of any large response whatsoever. Literally nothing appealing about it to warrant multiple listens, and the "American Dream" ******** she tries to sell with it has been done to death and is so inane at this point.

That's because most abuse victims are dependent on their abuser in some way (financially, home wise, etc), have kids/family or don't have the proper outlets means/support to leave. None of this applies to Rihanna. She is a multi-millionaire (richer than her abuser), with access to all the help, people, media, and assistance in the world. She's just a complete dumbass. Comparing her to other actual abuse victims is actually offensive.
