Yeah, someone mentioned this yesterday and it's an amazing idea, though I think she should wait to do it on Broadway when she settles down/has kids. That way she can stay in a stable home in NY for a few years.

Imagine if she were to star in Barbara's Gypsy and generally immerse herself in the Broadway community (even presenting an award at the Tonys) to get people to buy into her as a musical actress, and then she stars in her first blockbuster of Wicked.

In seriousness, though, I know that a Wicked movie is in the works, and Gaga could definitely pull off Elphaba if they don't get Idina to do it. I don't want her to ruin her pipes belting "Defying Gravity", but Idina's voice was only damaged because she did that for years on end, so it shouldn't be a problem. Also, doing a musical movie would be an easier way to shoehorn Gaga into Broadway, which would be cool for her to do between albums. If Gaga is eventually an EGOT.

Actually, I just found an article from August that says Barbra wants to direct a movie adaptation of Gypsy and cast herself as Mama Rose. This means Gaga could be Louise! Barbra wants to collaborate with Gaga, and this would be way over what I'm sure she expected. Bobby, where are you? Gaga, you better be reading this!

I wish Gaga would do one of those live musicals the networks have been doing. She'd get so much respect and attention for that
If she does a live musical, I'd love for her to be Mrs. Lovett in Sweeney or the Baker's Wife in Into the Woods (the Disney movie looks like it's going to ruin it ).
I'd expect her to do something like West Side Story ...
An Italian adaptation of WSS with Gaga as Anita would actually kind of slay. In fact, I'm honestly having trouble thinking of a lead role in a major musical she couldn't pull off well (though knowing her, she'll find the one role she couldn't pull off and prove me wrong )
