An interesting opinion! I think if she took the same gimmicky video routes as Katy with the same budget, she definitely would've had a shot. Clearly, her name wasn't established, but after establishing herself she could easily make anything a hit.
Epic nor Warner has that financial ability, especially after her first album flopped.
But she has what it takes to be the biggest artist on her label(not that it's saying much).
The worst part about watching the video is having to listen to that song.

To clear the air, the song is actually 40x worse than anything on the album. Not exaggerating.
Such phenomenal ear-candy pop songs.
