Its sad that their are no positive mainstream black female role models.. all of them are slithering around in sexual imagery or delusional hoodanigans. Sadly Nicki and Beyonce are the only top black artists and by default if you dislike them both you are racists, something is wrong with you.. I mean am i missing something else?

I don't know if Alicia Keys is considered famous anymore but her IMAGE isn't sexualized (even though she is a *****).

I dont get why you pick out Bey and Nicki since all women are sexualized in music now adays. Shakira (i love her) seuxalizes as much as Nicki and Bey and so does Gaga
I am so happy that I stan for Azealia Banks - a talented black woman with right opinions that doesn't use her body for sales and doesn't sell out to get into the industry. She's a blessing honestly
Getting lost in the back and forth is the strikingly unusual tone of “Anaconda.” Yes, the video is aggressively sexy, with plenty of barely-clad women. But it’s clear that Minaj is subverting the usual playful come-ons. Take the scene where she suggestively fondles a banana, then gleefully hacks the fruit to pieces. It’s hard to miss the subtext: You aren’t watching some male fantasy—Minaj is the one in charge here.

Minaj and Swift are models for a new type of female pop artist. I hope we’ll see more like them
