I had no idea that this was the same Bonnie McKee from the 00s. Her debut album was pop/rock perfection. The girl has such a versatile voice.

When I first heard the song I went, "oh it's a total Teenage Dream/Katy Perry ripoff." Then I just allowed myself to enjoy it for the catchy pop song it is and stopped worrying about what it sounded like. Too many times for songwriters who try their hand at singing, they've got such a distinct 'sound' with their lyrics and demos, which is then imitated by the artists they work with, that the songwriter doesn't have an identify of their own when they make music for themselves. I don't think Bonnie will fall into that category.

I really can't wait for what she has next. This is my summer anthem.
