I'm a bit taken aback at the U2 hate. Not saying they're not overrated by many, but when they did things right, they did them RIGHT.
I mean, listen to "Sunday Bloody Sunday," "Numb," "Sweetest Thing," "Window in the Skies," "Hold Me, Thrill Me, Kiss Me, Kill Me," "Even Better than the Real Thing," and/or "Discothèque" (just the guitar riff tbh), and they're all very solid songs. In some cases you could even say they're classics.
The problem is that most of the songs that people
think are U2's classics and masterpieces are okay but very much the same over and over again. But hey, unlike Nickelback, U2 can push out the same kinds of songs time and time again without the massive backlash NB gets, so that's kind of worthy of this list, right?
Anywho, if you don't think you like U2, check out their '90s stuff, when they were more experimental and sarcastic. That's my particular favorite U2
