Britney Spears is reportedly set to return to the UK to appear on the X Factor this December.

In her first visit to the UK in four years, the pop megastar will perform her comeback single Womanizer on the show.

The performance will come around the same time her sixth studio album, Circus, is due to be released on her 27th birthday.

The first single of the album, Womanizer, will be released here on 22 September.

An insider on Simon Cowell’s ITV1 hit said: “Everyone is thrilled. To have Britney involved is a massive coup. They expect ratings to go through the roof when her performance airs.”
