I was so against You and I single release:
1. ****ing boring song (OK, Album version is a bit too long - could be better).
2. Not for her 'general fanbase' that she got with dance music.
3. Radio won't spin it (see 1 & 2).
4. She lied to us that it won't ever be a single and now it is.
5. THAT ****ING SINGLE COVER. I hated Joe because it was too shocking for me I think but it seemed a very low desperate attempt for attention.

Then some **** happened... I come back again and whoom...

1. Full promo starting again: Simpsons ('cultural impact'), VMAs (opening + lots of promo, brining in the views), different Y&I edits for every state.
2. Amazing video. Of course this is subjectively (and it's actually part of the promo too).
3. Somehow, I now love the song
4. We got Yuyi finally! Love her.

How I felt about Y&I:

1. At first apprehensive because:
- so many people didn't want it as a single
- it wasn't classic Gaga dance pop
- the possibility of the video being completely shite again after TEOG mess
2. I love Joe. He is a LEGEND. And Joe was the most interesting thing Gaga has done in a long time, by using her male alter ego on the single cover she got people talking again (as she always does).
3. The video is excellent, although I still doubt it was entirely Boomkack's work apart from the dancing. Its nice we finally got Yuyi after Gaga let us down with The Edge video.
4. The Simpsons - well you know you've made it big once you've made it yellow!
5. VMAs look set to boost Y&I's profile everywhere and its already shaping up to be a big hit.

It took off on radio about the same time as Y&I and keeps on chasing every single step on Y&I on iTunes.
And both Gaga and Adele are performing at the VMA.
Not mentioning how it previously dominated the world in spring.

I don't think she outright lied about Y&I being a single. She said that before she finished the song and she ended up making the song more poppy than she originally planned to, so things changed.

I never HATED the song, but I didn't really like it at the beginning. But now, after the video, I'm obsessed with it. I'm amazed by how much of an impact the video had on me.

If both songs blow up, Y&I will be cockblocked from the top spot, for sure. However, as long as Y&I goes top ten and keeps Gaga's streak alive, I am fine. I mean if Gaga pulls off this ballad and it goes top ten, it'll be amazing and show that she really can do anything.
