He would've also lost the white working class to Trump (even tho he would've done better than Hillary) because it was more than economic strife with those voters, it was also a deep seated disdain for immigrants who they've always believed were 'taking' their jobs and that's not the message Bernie was selling.

We'll never really know but he could have improved his reach out to older minority voters going into the general (he pretty much had the younger ones on lock) his campaign acknowledged there were things they should have done from the start to attract African American voters and he didn't badly at all with Hispanics which I believe would have come out strongly anyway for anyone not Trump. (I also think he would have done better with African Americans if the Hillary campaign wasn't actively trying to put them off him but that's a different point)

I wouldn't disparage his popularity with white working class voters. It's all getting a bit fuzzy now so correct me if I'm wrong but Bernie managed primary upsets against Hillary in some states she lost closely in the general to Trump that might have given her a path to victory. Imagine if it was Bernie instead of Hillary and doing better with that demo would have seen him inch past Trump. We'd might have a dem president elect right now.

And I seriously doubt Trump would waste tax payer's money, nor time and resources on prosecuting Hillary Clinton, as enough of people's money have already been wasted this entire campaign. I'm genuinely sure the "lock her up" mantra was just for entertainment, and to uplift people to vote for him more.

There are far, far more important issues America is facing right now than Hillary Clinton.

And I'm glad Russia is already negotiating peace talks with the USA.

that's my motivation as my health care benefits are solid, I feel secure in my neighborhood and I'm ok with many other things directly affecting me.

I'ma need that economy replenished so that I can get the most equity out of my situation.

All that corruption and media biased that would make any other candidate a shoe in completely blew up in her face.

No, we need somebody who can speak to more than just college educated liberals and minorities. While they're important, we can't win with them alone. It might win us the White House from time to time but without a bigger base of voters we can't win Congress or elections at the state/local level.

Y'all really need to learn from this election. Plenty of people are trying to tell us why we lost. Hillary was a bad candidate (let's not kid ourselves) but traditionally democratic states turned red in this election. Use that as a wake up call. We can say it's because the other side is dumb and racist but that's not always the case and we can't win over those potential voters by grouping them and insulting them. The left doesn't like it when the right does it with minorities and vice versa. It just leads to deeper divide.

We need another Bernie who isn't AS extreme with his policies but has that appeal to the working class, isn't divisive, runs an aspirational campaign, isn't beholden to Wall Street or corporations, and can energize the base.

A lot of it was hatred of Hillary but we should still work to expand the base. We can win presidential elections but it won't matter if we can't get a Congress that will work with them.

Democrats held onto congress for over 40 years from 1952-1994. Let's not allow that happen with republicans.

I don't think the anger at the system will go away. But you could be right that most Americans will probably be looking for sanity next time around. It's depend on how Trump performs.

Just let anyone who wants to run, run in the 2020 primary and let the party decide. No more clearing the field for certain candidates.
