it's Rihanna being brave enough to kick down the assumption you can only be beautiful (on a magazine cover) with a Eurocentric look and aesthetically pleasing to the majority. it's very brave of her to embark down that road tbh.
Not many would ever go with that look. I think her bravery should be applauded, not ridiculed.
But she doesn't look beautiful so what message about this assumption does her cover really send?
