But the themes and conflicts and ideas are all really good...they really hyperbolized the age old rich vs poor conflict that has been present for centuries...and the idea of jealousy

That movie looks like Insidious

This Is The End was great and hilarious, haven't seen World War Z myself yet though

Just finished the Halloween franchise

Halloween 1 - brilliant
Halloween 2- good
Halloween 3 - unwatchable trash
Halloween 4 - ok
Halloween 5 - good
Halloween 6 - ok
Halloween H20 - great
Halloween Resurecction - decent
1. remake - ok
2. remake - good (even though it has a **** ending and the vision parts are useless

Overall much much much better than the Nightmare on Elm Street franchise.
Except for the third one I don't regret watching any of the movies

Yeah, it's another ghost/house movie but Vera is amazing in thrillers. You're Not looks like every other home invasion film if that's your response.

Edit 1: only complaint so far is that the teacher looks like a damn student herself

Edit 2: I thought it was a pretty great movie, it was weird and messed up and just plain wrong

The last 5 minutes were meant to be really campy/tying it all together with a Lovecraft reference, but also the hand is meant to be the audience. The entire movie was a commentary on the state of the horror genre.

Basically, Sigourney Weaver is the "director" and all of the people in the control room are the producers, writers, etc. and we (the audience) are the Gods they are trying to appease. The whole message is just how we have become so used to formulaic horror movies with the stereotyped characters (the virgin, the ****, the jock, etc.) and dying in a certain order. However, the characters we saw were actually very different from their stereotype, yet they forced them to be that way. (ex. how the blonde "****" was actually a smart, brunette but dyed her hair, the chemicals of which made her act ****ty.) In the end, when the main girl and guy (I can't remember their names) decide whether to complete the ritual or die and they opt for change, it's really a message to say that horror movies need to change and evolve from the stale formula that has been recycled for years.

This is why I absolutely love this movie. It is one of my favorite horror movies in years, and it was really a huge love letter to horror fans. Joss Whedon & Drew Goddard >>>. Their attention to subtext and commentary that is not overt or dumbed down for a mainstream audience is what makes this movie so ****ing great.

On another note, I'm going to see a pre-screening of The Conjuring tonight. So excited!

I watched the Last Exorcism Part II yesterday...
better than the first one... but the ending
