That's just amazing. I mean you look at albums like Progress that were released the same time and they kept on outselling her but they aren't having as good longevity as she is.

IKR? And Loud was released in November 2010 and STILL was the 4th top selling album in the UK of 2010. How does that even happen?
She had insane sales, both in the UK and WW. She had good sales in the US (still no number one, though. )
The lack of a number one album is annoying, but as I said a few pages back in the thread, Rihanna is the living proof that you don't need a #1 album to still sell albums and be successful.
People assume Rihanna can't sell albums, based on the fact that Rihanna doesn't have a US #1 album to her name... how wrong they are...
u guys shouldn't give up the songs
the world don't know them!
the songs can riiise and get popular!
don't ****ing give up and request!

The songs may be great but are not single friendly. RS 101 was one of my favs from RatedR but flopped hard as ****. Quality music =/= commercial hit.
It is very easy to spot the commercial hit though. For example LTWYL was my isntant fav song after the first listen. It high rocketed to #1 on iTunes without being released and as far as I could remember it wasn't planned to be the second single.
Lets wait patiently for the rih-release to save the day. But I guess I MIGHT be able to let a Cheers release find its way into the works before then...
I don't think we should be too disappointed about this, I mean, at the end of the day both singles were a risk - and we knew that.
In reality DJ is a mess for allowing the fans to choose a single this early on for such a high profile album... and then in fact choosing 2 of them to dual release. It seems mad to be honest, especially having been through the RS101 period. But hey, at least the Navy got what we wanted.
They must know Cheers was the safest bet because wasn't that originally planned as the lead single? Idk, we should just be thankful the first 3 singles smashed. 3#1s is very good work and the album sales are impressive. Even without a re-release Cheers would probably push Loud to near the 2x platinum mark.
