Everyone should go to the shops RIGHT NOW (a newsagency perhaps!) and buy coloured cellophane. When it's night time, stick the cellophane over your ceiling lights, and you will have a coloured room! Like putting purple cellophane oveer your ceiling light makes your room very purple!

Yes it comes in all colours. I went to the shop today and got a few colours for AU$1.50 each. You can typically find them in newsagencies or arts/craft stores.
The actual reason why I bought them is so I can use them with my lighting kit. I wrap them around the softboxes and it emits a coloured light to achieve photos like this (using more than one softbox and cellophane colour at once):
