People need to not give up hope. There's still a way Hillary can get into the White House, however unlikely and unprecedented. But Trump getting into the White House was also unlikely and unprecedented and that happened, or will happen if nobody even tries to do anything about it. It's definitely not gonna happen if people just accept Trump and stay silent. Peaceful protests can help. Raising awareness can help. Online petitions can help. Not much, but a little. All it takes is the right person to be listening.

A lot can happen in the month between now and December 19. The man is going to court for goodness sake. That's enough incentive to get people talking and questioning whether the people really voted for the right candidate.

VPs always get picked for their swing state though. He did his job. The last part of your post is just an unfair assumption.

In ordinary elections, sure. This was an unorthodox cycle, and she stuck with the same 90s mentality. 6M Dem voters stayed home. 3M more voted for Gary Johnson.
It was a base turnout election and she did everything wrong.

I remember saying (months ago!) that young black voters were unhappy with Obama and would not show up. I said the hispanic surge was a myth. Folks got angry and said i was "trolling." I asked about the Dems bleeding white blue collar voters and i was told that they're dying out and "we no longer need them." I said Hillary was the weakest candidate we'd fielded since Al Gore. This was months ago. SMH.

Tbh I don't think there's anything the Democrats can do at this point. If they win in 2020 it'll be due to Trump messing up real bad and people realising this experiment hasn't actually done anything except change the figurehead of the country.

You could argue that picking the right person could energise the base a bit more but I just don't see a person who can energise all parts of the democratic base at once.

So how's Kaine to blame? VPs don't have much power outside their swing state. He did his job.
And I'd say the base did everything wrong too. It was a disaster on both sides although at least she tried. These young protest voters/non-voters are such egomaniacs. Imagine if longterm democrats also protested their vote? We would have had no Obama. We would have had no progress from 2008. To assume that they would and should come out for Bernie but you shouldn't have to do the same for Hillary is incredibly misguided.
I guess the DNC should have taken into consideration the immaturity of its new coalitions and not nominated the controversial figure but I'm never gonna stop blaming those protesters for this.

The funny thing is I thought Brexit was bad enough.. but it's looking like they could actually block it in parliament and even if they don't it's going to take a long time to get through the process so life will go on as normal.

The US has just locked this mentality and style of governance in for 4 damn years... this is very different and I can't see it ending well... Particularly with those massive tax breaks for businesses at the top.

I guess if the Dems win in 2020 that's where it will be. Point out those tax cuts and how they're failing the ordinary worker and benefiting people like Trump.
