I can never decide whether I prefer Rhythm Nation or The Velvet Rope. I love both for different reasons: TVR's lyrics and just how frank she is on it, and RN's cohesion and sheer ambition. After those two, I would definitely put Control in my trinity. A truly underrated pop record.
