idk I always have this feeling that there is more that happen in that night from what we have seen

I have feeling that the other girls were involved in sth bigger hence why they seperated after Ali's disappearence for a year ..... like the show is called Pretty Little Liars and what I want to believe is that they are good liars but from what those 5 seasons have showed us is that they aren't that good .... like there hasn't been any big thing that they have hide and the 4 know eveything btw eachother so my ... theory is that they are lying the public and that is what makes them pretty little liars because they have managed to fool the public about what happened in the 1st episode ,..... at least imo that would be pretty big and cool twist idk

If A is taking revenge for someone killing Bethany on that night, that doesn't explain Ali getting A messages before that night. Remember she thought it was Ian and she thought she could find tape evidence of his. During the Halloween flashback she got at least one A message. So A would had to be exacting revenge for something before that night.

Mona was A. But I'm certain Big A was sending threats (or had Mona do it). Especially the "Tonight's the night I kill you" message.

I think someone (Bethany, Charles, and/or Cece) planned on killing Alison. It backfired, and the girls killed Bethany. They didn't know until the end of S3 that Ali was alive. They dug up the body and found that Bethany was really dead. That's why Big A started torturing them in S3.
