What is the deal with Britney's recording contract? Everyone said Femme Fatale was her last album with RCA when it was released, but obviously that wasn't the case because she released Britney Jean under RCA. Britney Jean is her last album with RCA.

Femme Fatale was her last album with Jive.

Femme Fatale coincided with the RCA/Jive split therefore it was a project of Jive/RCA but was then continued by RCA alone.

We don't know if she's 100% done with RCA but if you're actually trying to imply she'd get better promo without them, it still depends on her team. The record label may cash in a lot for her but if her team makes the wrong decisions once again, the next era will most likely be another BJ era. Another thing is Britney should also give 100% next era.

It's like a pyramid, if one decides not to give effort, it wouldn't succeed. There should always be perfect balance between the three.

They didn't pile a lot of money into the album. Will was most likely their biggest expense and Larry manages him anyway.

All expensive promotion was for Vegas so they'll recoup any losses right back from it. It was a seemingly smart investment decision but they sunk any potential for album sales.

I don't think they invested a lot of money into the album in the first place. Those leftovers from #willpower and Prism surely did not cost them much.

I think its quite obvious Britney was fully involved with the album before she decided to tell RCA to go screw themselves. This is why Britney Jean turned out to be a completely different album.

I read that the budget for the album was <700K so it really wasn't that expensive, tbh.

Pretty sure a Ciara album would cost more to make.
