After Reading the whole NME interview.... I can honestly say that Rihanna is waiting just for the shake of it.

The album is done and they only need to put the tracklist in order and maybe decide between a 23-track album or a 12-track-each-double-CD.

I dont think she is rush-recording a Smash hit to save the album. She is just waiting to let people forget she was about to release an album to make it be a 'SURPRISE-RELEASE'.

I dont think its a bad move... she leaves almost a year-gap between the lead single and the album release... people know the songs she released by heart... yet they lack the album.

When they get the album they get the whole thing at once. And yet the people that didnt like the singles will also check the rest of the album as its the shock or the 'surprise-release' yet this surprise DOES HAVE LEAD SINGLE.

Its a very different way of doing things. Its never been done before. But it does make sense now.

She is making her die-hard fans crave for new music.
And yet the new audience she reached with her new sound is ALSO craving for new music.
And the rest of the people that know that she always delivers at least a couple of songs that they love coz she makes music for all kinds of audiences is ALSO craving for new music.
And the people that claim they are tired of waiting... Means they also have the album in mind so when it drops its definitely going to be checked by them.

She has all eyes on her yet she has let her music rest for almost a year. She's not been everywhere, so she can focus on being everywhere again when the album actually drops.
