Cancelling EDIAH was the smartest move she made since rush-releasing Dark Horse (TIHWD aside). It would have flopped and ruined her Top 30 streak. It's a terrible, tragic, weak, sad excuse for a house-influenced Christmas song. Duke disappointed.
It would have been blocked by Mariah for sure even on the Holiday charts.
I do believe the rumours that she hated Dark Horse tho. She was probably forced to record it as the "E.T." of the album. She loved Uncle and it flopped and DH overshadowed it so she sabotaged Birthday and put out a single most people hated in order for it to flop (but it kinda backfired because it still slayed streaming... even a Riff Raff remix couldn't destroy it).
