I would say yes and no. I'm thinking of MJ with this answer. Yes, he has a certain sound, but you have to push it further. For example, "Beat It" and "Bad" sounds similar sonically but you can't say he didn't push himself when he released singles like "Dirty Diana", "Smooth Criminal", "The Way You Make Me Feel" etc.

It's too soon to tell how her album is going to sound like but I really hope it's not a duplicate of her last album.

For me it started to sound the same, I can't explain it. I was totally on the Adele train during 19 and with 21 it started fine but it became too much. I seem to be in the minority so suppose it's just me.

This works for her I guess. It just doesn't make sense when people here are saying that artist x,y,z, should do something different (I am one of them cause I like growth, even tho I realise it can be perceived differently) but when it comes to Adele 4 "Set Fire to the Rain" songs would still make their panties wet.
