Good debut from Maroon 5 and decent one by John Mayer.
BAD fall-offs, though...
Here's what to expect for next week:
* A bit of a sluggish countdown, aside from a +9 jump by one of our debuts this week.
* The countdown debut of the video that was named Video of the Year at the 2005 MTV Video Music Awards.
* And a fall-off by Adam Levine and his band.
"Just Lose It", "My Boo", "What You Waiting For", "Vertigo", "Lose My Breath", "American Idiot", "Lady", "Nobody's Home", "She Will Be Loved", "Somewhere Only We Know", "Somebody Told Me" and "Sunday Morning" too many masterpieces in one countdown
Here's what to expect for next week:
* A brand new #1 video (and a very fast-rising one, I must say).
* The countdown debut of a band that back in 2001 told us about the middle, and who now want to take the pain away.
* The returns of TWO videos that left the countdown fairly recently.
* And the exit of three videos, all of which have spent over 10 weeks on the countdown.
Great returns and good debut. Happy with the new #1.
BUT all three fall-offs were great, too. Although I guess they had served their time already...
Here's what to expect for next week:
* A video returns to the #1 spot for the last week of 2004, after being absent from it for a few weeks.
* The last THREE countdown debuts of the year, including:
>> Beyoncé, Kelly, and Michelle call for an army-man "that ain't scared to stand up for me".
>> Slim Shady's song, which samples Martika's similarly-named hit from 1989.
>> Johnny Rzeznik & co.'s cover of a Supertramp song.
* And we say goodbye to three more videos, all from the countdown's bottom half.
Fall-Offs:
Sarah McLachlan, "World on Fire" [7 weeks / #15 / Peak: 11]
Duran Duran, "(Reach Up for the) Sunrise" [6 weeks / #18 / Peak: 16]
The Killers, "Somebody Told Me" [14 weeks / #19 / Peak: 15 (x4)]

Good debuts (especially "Like Toy Soldiers"), but I wouldn't have minded if all three fall-offs had stayed this week...
Also, the run "Somebody Told Me" had is unbelievable!!! How could it be on the countdown for 3 months and never get past #15????
I think I'm gonna take a break for a few days before posting the last set of charts from 2005. Perhaps I'll get the 2004 year-end chart posted sometime before...
Anyway, this week's debuts:
Eminem, "Like Toy Soldiers"
Goo Goo Dolls, "Give a Little Bit"
Destiny's Child featuring T.I. & Lil Wayne, "Soldier"
