The song served as the album's fourth single in Europe and Asia, and it was released digitally in the United Kingdom in March 2007. It was the album's fifth single in Latin America.
"Say It Right" received positive reviews from critics praising its high quality production as well as commenting on the lyrical content and Furtado's vocal performance.
