I couldn't live in NC, but I've been to Greensboro for a few conferences and I was amazed at how friendly people were. Everything just seemed so much more slow-paced and relaxed. Like people actually took the time to talk to you and were hospitable.

A write up on NC Cities before it changes to Washington:
Charlotte: With a population approaching 800k,it is by FAR NC's largest city.Politically, it is moderate but leans left.Home to an Amusement park, two major sports teams, and a few fortune 500 companies. This city has some similarities to Atlanta, but also has differences. This is as close to a big city in size and ambition as you can get in the Carolinas.
Raleigh: With a population just over 410K, Raleigh is NC's second largest city, and the state capital, and home to the state's NHL team. While it doesn't have as many amenities as Charlotte,it's poised to become the next powerhouse of this state. This City, and its suburbs constantly make best of lists.
Greensboro: At just under 300K, this is NC's third largest city.Home to NC A&T,UNCG, and a Waterpark, Greensboro gets overshadowed by both Raleigh and Charlotte due to the fact that there aren't as many young professionals moving there. This city has a good sized minority population.
Durham: At just under 240K, it often switches places with Winston-Salem as the fourth biggest city in NC.It is one of the more diverse cities in the state and home to the prestigious Duke University.Best known for being one of NC's 'liberal' cities and the backdrop of Bull Durham, it often gets lumped with Raleigh although both cities carry different vibes.
Winston-Salem: Just like Durham, Winston-Salem has under 240K.Winston-Salem is VERY moderate due to their mix of corporate culture and art culture. If I were to describe Winston-Salem, It Would be What happens when you mix Durham and Charlotte together and throw some Asheboro in for good measure.Home to Wake Forest University.
Fayetteville: At over 210K,Fayetteville is a big military town (once you've been in one, you've seen them all) Many would characterize it as a wasteland of strip malls ,titty bars, tattoo parlors and pawn shops.Fayetteville suffers from the same problem many other NC cities have: C
CRIME.
While Fayetteville is not the worst place in the state for crime, it has gotten bad enough to make the crime lists. That being said, due too Ft. Bragg, that area should be experiencing good growth in the next few years.
High Point: Not much to say here, just a furniture town with a dying mall
Cary: It's suburbia EXACTLY like they picture it in the movies. It is the EXACT OPPOSITE of Fayetteville. The ONLY city I know of where none of the McDonald's I know of there have red mansard rules because of design regulations.VERY SAFE and very moderate politically.Home to so many transplants that it earned the Acronym Containment Area for Relocated Yankeses
Wilmington: If you've been to Savannah or Charleston, chances are you'll find a somewhat similar vibe in Wilmington, though Wilmington isn't as historic as the other two, Wilmington does have the mossy oaks and palmetto tree lined streets. It also served as the backdrop of One Tree Hill and Dawson's Creek.Wilmington is politically conservative and has just over 100,000 people
Asheville: With over 90K, Asheville is characterized as a hippie city. It's full of walkable shops, cafes and galleries. That being said, while Asheville itself is liberal, the county is very moderate, and the surrounding areas are vehemently conservative. It's a great tourist spot if you love mountain towns.
Chapel Hill/Carrboro: With over 70k combined (50K for Chapel Hill,20k for Carrboro),Home to UNC, one of the oldest state colleges in the nation, this is HANDS DOWN the most liberal area of NC.Also doesn't have as many chains as cities of their size because many of the residents prefer to shop and eat local.TBH there is NO Walmart in either city PROPER dure to opposition from the residents (theres one with a Chapel Hill address but that's not actually part of their city)

There's a lot of really cute places in NC. I visit my dad sometimes in Asheville and I met Rihanna in Greensboro.

Washington is the most populous state in the Northwestern United States. It's a very beautiful place. (Also the #1 spot for Bigfoot sightings )

Seattle

Spokane

Mt. Rainier (Highest Mountain in lower 48 (Prominence)). Also a Volcano

Mt. Saint Helens (30 years after the big explosion)

Beach
I cannot wait to move Seattle. It'll happen...some day Too bad their football team sucks

Washington? Close enough
I lived in Seattle for a bit during college. It's beautiful. The food is to die for. The culture is amazing as long as you like homosexuals. The theatre has the best productions.
I saw Kelly Clarkson in Kent, Britney in Tacoma, and I'll be seeing Gaga in Seattle.

I went to Seattle back in August and it was fantastic. I relate Seattle to awesomeness also cause of what I was doing there and how much general fun I had, but I really really loved it there. I would definitely be okay living there.
