Reminding fans you have a song out is fine, even though I don't prefer that either. But constantly throwing it in their face that your song is on iTunes is not okay to me, I don't speak for anyone else but me and I wouldn't want Beyonce on Twitter posting every 5 seconds that she has a new song on iTunes that we should buy when we would have heard her the first time.

And yes it's different going on television, because you're there to promote in the first place. That's not what Twitter is supposed to be for, and most singers DO NOT use their Twitter as promo for their music.
