And we start things off with a story told from a second person perspective! This should be interesting.
And to my delight, it was! Rather than focusing on plot, you instead opted to illustrate one particular moment in detail- and for the most part, you did a splendid job. At times, I was rather tickled by the overdramatic prose (“you continue your hunt for a bite to eat”).
Although, I do think that the last track you picked was a little too intense for the scene you were describing.
DevonDreams
I think I wanted to like your entry a lot more than I did. You’ve got all the ingredients for a hilarious trinity, but it lacks focus and direction. For the second song the narrator goes off on some weird tangent about his dog that’s… more sad than funny, to be honest.
Hugamari
Well, as someone who appreciates both video game trivia and Buzzfeed shade, I immediately took a liking to your trinity.
And honestly, this was a pretty on-the-nose sendup of the typical Buzzfeed listicle, what with the corny jokes and the clickbait title. At the same time, it was pretty informative and fun to read, particularly the Runescape entry, which featured a lush, vivid description of the actual track. Bravo!
Kxvk
Beautiful, fascinating and touching. I love that you managed to work a personal anecdote into the “Journey” section, and I’m impressed by the way you tied the songs both to the themes they represent and the works that they’re directly related to.
that G.U.Y.
I…I’m not sure what you were going for. It sounded kind of like a synopsis of life from the perspective of someone who can only understand the universe in precise, scientific terms. And while that’s certainly ambitious, I think a concept like that demands more detail than what you provided.
fireaero
Are you a writer? Like, a legit writer? You must be, because DAMN this story gave me chills. My skin was crawling during the second song, when the narrator’s being lead up the stairs.
My only complaint is that it ends a little too abruptly. Just when we find out that the guy’s wife knows who Jennifer is, the story’s like, “And then they both died and went to heaven. The end."
swiftie13
Holy ****, I’m crying right now. My grandma had a bad stroke last month and she’s been in the hospital ever since, so this really hits home for me. I don’t think that the Kingdom Hearts track you chose quite fit the mood you were describing during the first part, but otherwise, solid work.
Kingie
So that’s why Hollywood isn’t coming up with any original ideas anymore.
First of all, you get an A+ for presentation; I love how you designed each blurb to look like an actual screenplay. As for the content, you’ve got a pretty solid trio of genre spoofs, and the film executive’s comments were pretty damn funny too. Also, not gonna lie, I cackled at the Harambe joke.
Xedetrinz Lododnz
Most frightening trinity of all time, you say? We’ll see about that.
*Five minutes later*
Eh, six out of ten.
Don’t get me wrong; your song choices were fine, and you’ve got some great ideas here. The idea that you’re stuck in an endless loop of nightmares for eternity is definitely a spooky one. But the prose is too stiff to really let the idea sink in, and the pacing was kind of off. A good ghost story has to start somewhere normal before veering into creepy territory, to subvert the readers’ expectations.
Witch Privilege
All right, a historical piece! I’m really digging the diversity of the entries this round.
And you nailed it, because this is undoubtedly your strongest trinity this season. Your trinity displays a wealth of both musical and historical knowledge, describing all three tracks in detail and explaining how each one relates to Marie Antoinette’s tumultuous life. Great work.
Temporal
And we wrap things up with another “picture worth a thousand words” entry. With music and gifs alone, you demonstrate three different sides of urban living: one vibrant, one melancholy, and one… serene? I’m not really sure what you were going for with the third entry. “Blue Bells of Scotland” doesn’t seem to quite match up with the third gif. First two parts of the trinity were spot-on, though.
Also, remind me to tell my dad about Snarky Puppy; I have a feeling he’d really dig them.

Devon - Your entry had... a lot of personality! nn. I didn't really care for the story (personally) but the main part, your songs, were actually really cool here. So keep trying things/experimenting and delivering unique songs from here on, as long as the quality is there you'll do fine.
Hugamari - Like I said, Magikarp Festival is a BOP so I'm glad you did that song. Actually I liked the video game concept (and the whole clickbait article aesthetic was cute too). However I think the write up could've been more creative/entertaining which usually isn't a problem for you. Something really out of the box (not necessarily music wise but the entry style) would be good for next time.
Kxvk - The airplane concept was kind of unique and the first and last song really fit their respective "ideas". As usual your song choices are immaculate but there was just something missing here to really make the entry excellent. I think that it lacked a real personality which I would really like to see from your entries.
that GUY - The second song was a bop, and I like how it really gets eerily quiet with your third song. I wasn't really convinced by the concept of the entry as a whole though. I felt like some of your other entries had a sense of story or some kind of connection that sold the entry, but this one was kind of basic. You don't have to serve novel, but giving a little more thought and creativity is what would really help your entries at this point.
fireaero - Oop the creepy song in the middle. The story is fine as usual, but the songs were just average. I think you could've picked better songs for sure. Strong song choices should be your main focus from here out, not just finding the first song that mildly fits the theme, but really really solid choices. The stories are fine too, but something different from the usual might also be a good idea.
swiftie - Self promo I see! The entry was solid as a whole (minus the dizzying graphics). The songs were fine, with the Zelda one being the best, but the real thing that made your entry work was the associated write up. Your entries tend to have a very heavy emotional element which is definitely distinctive. I think you need to work on making sure the music/theme fits perfectly (or at least convincing me that it fits ala Pokemon Type trinity)
Kingie - Framing your entry as a pitch meeting was a unique way to get around the fact that the songs had no real theme overall. I liked the entry as a whole, so good job yet again. Not my favourite but still one of the higher ones. Keep doing what you're doing but with things getting more competitive you should definitely try to make things as unique and creative as possible.
XL - So we've had two people spotlight one album, but in this case you spotlighted a series which I thought was cool. What I thought was odd, and frankly a missed opportunity, was that your story didn't relate to Pokemon at all. Had you done a cool creative story that involved Pokemon this could've been my #1.
Witch_Privilege - Profiling a famous figure was a great approach for this entry, I really liked your supporting writeup. The songs were kind of middle of the road for me though. Stronger song choices are what you needed (and what I think you should work on the most).
Temporal - I know you had a busy week so I won't #clock you that much but this entry just didn't have enough to convince me of... anything. It set the scene I guess, but that was a previous round, wasn't it? That being said, the reimagined city sounds was a really strong concept, I just wish it could've been fleshed out a bit more (the first song was perfect for the entry btw)

The songs had a consistent mood and genre to them but also were all different and could only fit their particular part of the story. The story itself was well written but in terms of content it wasn’t too thrilling.
DevonDreams - Mess. Actually though this trinity had the most songs I would listen to again. It’s such, like, browsing the Internet alone in your room music, and it fit really well. I mean this did make me really uncomfortable but I was also kii’ing a lil. I wouldn’t want every entry like this but this was a cute one time gig.
Hugamari - Cute idea and good song choices, but I wish you had taken the joke further. Buzzfeed is a mess, and I was hoping for more listicles or other kinds of Buzzfeed-isms. You got partway there but I wanted to see you hit it out of the park XD!
Kxvk - Nice idea. I like the song choice especially for the rocket ship, but I didn’t like the one for the modern-day plane so much. I do get the simplicity but I feel like having a little something else with it would have improved upon this. Also, if you were going to do a trinity about flight, I think you shouldn’t have used two planes; maybe, for diversity and stuff, a helicopter could have worked?
that G.U.Y. - Sis what? Nice song choices, but I don’t really understand what’s going on. You kind of jump from thought to thought very quickly and it moved too fast for me to grab hold of anything. I’m glad you evidently spent more time on your song choices, though!
fireaero - Interesting and cool story! You’re a very good writer. The song choices, however, were a little problematic. The first song was the biggest offense; it was just really typical “bar” music and only fit a line or two of your story. Given the title of the song, it’s pretty evident you just looked up “jazz” or something. I have a feeling this will be an unpopular opinion but I also wasn’t a big fan of the third song. That was a big moment and you could’ve chose something a little more… powerful? Impactful? The song kinda passed me by and I had to listen to it a couple more times because it kept on not catching my attention.
swiftie13 - @ you stealing my graphics from last season. Anyhow, this was really sweet and a beautiful dedication to your grandfather. I loved the addition of your own song at the end because it held special meaning. I do think that the first song was a little too fast for the situation, however. It was, like, final level music.
Kingie - Not Totally Spies aka the gayest show in existence. Cute idea, and the songs fit very nicely! I do feel like it took a while to build up, like it wasn’t really that entertaining of a read until the last part. You could’ve kept the whole thing interesting instead of just building up to the reveal of the millenial version.
Xedretinz Lododnz - I want CRING CRING CRING to be iconic. Really good song choices, they’re all Pokemon so of course they fit well together. I think this could’ve been more powerful if it was edited down a little bit? There’s so much that it’s kinda overwhelming
Witch Privilege - While I appreciate the idea, this was a bit of a history lesson with no emotion or feeling behind it. The whole sonic theme was executed extremely well but you’re just telling us stuff that happened to her. Why did you choose to make a trinity about Marie Antoinette? Was it just arbitrary? I’m not expecting you to be like “I chose Marie Antoinette because ___” but the entry reads a bit like a Wikipedia article.
Temporal - So it is a lil obvious this was just thrown together last minute. The idea was okay but wasn’t really very unique or exciting. I also think that last song was a really poor choice and doesn’t fit well. I’m guessing you played it on trombone once and then you were like “**** I need a third song!!!” so you picked it. Anyhow yeah this just fell behind in comparison with the other entries.

Congratulations to Kingie, swiftie13 and Hugamari!
You three will be discussing together and deciding on one Flop Trinity member to eliminate. You can choose from Xedretinz Lododnz, Temporal and that G.U.Y.. You will also be choosing a member in the middle to give immunity to for the next round. This is not optional, you have to do it!! (Unless you tell them, they will not know they're receiving immunity.)
Please PM me your decisions within 24 hours. New rule: if you don't PM me your decision withi 24 hours I'm using a randomizer to assign both the elimination and the immunity, and that's no fun so please let me know of your decision!
Good luck to the FT members! Also, quick note: judges really disagreed a lot this round! Make of that what you will~*~

Also post in the thread so I can update your avatars!

When one judge gives you their one, and the others give you their 7.
When you FINALLY end up in the middle for the first time in 4 rounds, and don't have to worry about anything.

Thanks for the compliments on my writing
And that's true, I made the same mistake of writing a story then haphazardly snatching some vaguely relevant songs just for the sake of meeting the requirements.
I'll try starting with the songs first next round
