Never expected a simple film would be one of my top 5 favorites this year. I just watched it since there was no other interesting movie to watch at that time and this turned out to be a pleasant surprise. It's about a guy who is handed a sizeable amount of cash after his distant father passed away and finds out it was meant to be delivered to a sister that he never met in his life. The movie was dialogue-driven instead of having a lot of action but it did not find it boring and instead, I related to the characters and their lives. I'm not gonnna elaborate on that but this movie had a meaning on me personally. I just have to say that Elizabeth Banks looks a lot like Chelsea Handler that I sometimes imagine her as Chelsea when her character is humorous in the film.
4. The Hunger Games

Just missing the top 3 is a movie based on a book that has accumulated some hype months before its release especially with the casting. Nope, I'm not talking about that vampire movie but the movie that actually had a good cast and a good story. Though I must admit that I'm not a big big fan of the book like I've seen some people, I enjoyed finishing the trilogy and was looking forward to the movie. I did not like the shaky camera at the beginning of the film but it got better as the movie progressed. Jennifer was good as Katniss and I just realized that this is Elizabeth Banks' 2nd movie in my countdown and it's a back-to-back appearance for her after appearing as the sister in PLU and playing Effie in THG. It had good visual effects and costumes. I understand why they had to cut out some scenes from the book but I hope it
would not affect the future sequels. I cannot wait for Catching Fire (even if I'm disappointed by the chosen actress who's playing Johanna)! May the odds be ever in your favor!
Top 3 coming up!
P.S.
I just watched Rise Of The Guardians earlier and I loved it. Now I feel like it deserves a spot in the countdown
