If they wanted to capitalize on the incident like you're claiming right now, then the lead single would have been released in March, and the album would have followed that spring.

I said the same before. Her stans bring up her "writing" credits on that album, but she's listed last on every track she "co-wrote" -- adding a few words here and there isn't song writing at all.
|
She's not last on every Rated R writing credit, and regardless, she has composing, design, creative direction, and executive production credits for the album.

that proves nothing. Ms. Fenty is often hit and miss with her vocals, mostly miss. Rihanna has average vocals at best, nothing to rave over. It would be a different story if she was consistent but she's not. For every vocal performance you post, one can easily turn around and post a performance with less than stellar vocals. Her jingle ball performances quickly come to mind.
I wouldn't say Rihanna can't sing, but her vocals are simply mediocre and cute on pop records. Much like Britney Spears, and I'm a fan so it's not shade at all.

On most of the tracks she "wrote" on that album, she's basically listed last. I saw the credits. And she was listed last on "composing"

Yes, she's hit and miss, but the fact that she can sing as well as she can proves that her voice isn't mediocre. Her performances may be, as a whole, mediocre or just average, but she's proven that her voice is not.

You're totally contradicting your point. Goodbye.

Nope. Once she can take a break and come back and STILL be a force, like Madonna, like Britney, then yeah, she'll deserve more respect. Right now she's just like the NOW! That's What I Call Music series.

ATRL does way too much on RIhanna cause of the Navy. She's got her downsides but once again, people don't give her enough respect for her good singing moments and achievements. I'm picking yes.

Yes. She has so many successful hits under her belt and she's under-recognized for them.

she deserves a bit more respect for all she's achieved. Plus her voice is not as bad as some make out. Though her live performances can be hit & miss.
so yes.
ps; RR is my fave song of hers and so underrated.

No she has not "proven" her voice is more than just mediocre, maybe to the Navy but not to the masses. And neither has Britney or Madonna. People don't think great vocalists when they think of them. Rihanna's vocals are average at best and nothing more.

The problem with her is that she's cute in the studio... but when it comes to live performances she's from basic to trash... it's a rare ocasion when she gets it right...
If you want to be taken seriously as a performer, you must AT LEAST try harder...
Go take a break and find some inspiration... WORK on your album! really work on it... give it some thought... do some research...
Sorry RihRih... but it's a no for now...

As a Rihanna stan, I honestly believe that she does not receive the respect she deserves from the general public. A package like hers hardly ever comes along--she has got it all.
I think that the public just does not know enough about her personality and story--otherwise, they would display more respect for how far her career has come and how no other current artist is as consistent.

I just gotta add that a genuinely good singer is consistently good. They certainly shouldn't be expected to be on point 100% of the time, but it should be the case most of the time. Not once in a blue moon.

EXACTLY!
It's the other way around... VERY OCASIONALY you don't sound good... or don't perform good... and that would be OK.
