Troye Sivan, some popular gay youtuber from down under who I'd somehow never heard of before, surprised me with his melancholic electropop debut single "Happy Little Pill." The song may sound like something that a teenaged ATRL member with too much passion for Lana Del Rey and Lorde may produce, but there's something strikingly effective about the way that Troye addresses loneliness and all the ways that people try to cope with it. "Happy Little Pill" is a mature debut for the teen, and it's good enough that I look forward to hearing more from him.
