Birthday didn't even flop that hard. It went top 20 and top 10 on pop. For a 4th single with a **** music video and only televised performance was from tour, that's decent. Look at other 4th_ singles.

Katy grossed $3,293,503 from two shows at the Verizon Center. Divide that by two and you get $1,646,752 which is still more than Gaga's $1,014,800 and Rihanna's $1,185,020. In addition, divide 26,508 by two and you get 13,254 people in attendance for each show. Which means Katy grossed more than Beyoncé, Taylor, Rihanna, and Gaga did even tho they had more people at their shows

Yeah no Billboard boxscores this week

Although Pollstar 2014 mid-year report should be released after few days so we will hopefully get a total gross of the first 22 dates

I don't understand how she can gross more than Beyoncé, Taylor, Rihanna and Gaga with less attendance per show (for Washington) and lower ticket prices ?

If you divide gross by attendance, the average ticket price was $ 124 for that date. This means that 80+ % of Katy's tickets were divided 50/50 between $ 150 and $ 100 tickets.

The most expensive or cheapest tickets might count as 1% to 5% of the attendance, might cancel each other out (200+50)/2=125 and doesn't have much influence on the big chunk of normal priced tickets.

The days of $ 30 tickets are gone.

I've seen a Pollstar for her Atlanta date and it is like $400k less than BB. I'm not discrediting her and BB's numbers are always final, but her ticket prices don't add up/make sense to some of the grosses – the most reasonable explanation is that they are factoring in VIP prices into the boxscores, which most of the time never happens.
