Hey guys!

Sorry in advance if this is not the place for these types of questions, but I'd love to start some sort of discussion.

I was watching the news tonight whilst eating dinner and they were reporting this massive car accident in which a man sped through a red light and killed two women in a car that he collided with.

After speaking about the two women, the news reporter then started to speak about the man. His first words were: "The man has been identified as a [however old] Muslim man". I got quite annoyed because that is not relevant whatsoever, but the media in Australia does that quite a lot.

So, I guess my question is this: Does the media in your country seem to paint Muslims in a negative light, and if so, how? I'm genuinely curious because I am sick of the media here subtly swaying the ignorant masses with their fallacious propaganda.

I live in Australia too, and the media, is very biased against Muslims . Newspapers like the Daily Telegraph are almost always depicting Muslims and Islam in a negative and inaccurate way, focusing on small minorities of extremists instead of the other 99.9% of Muslims. But anyway,

usually right-wing media makes those kind of reports, but if they don't, the conservative right-wing commentators make sure they "inform us" that the person is of muslim faith

I think that's what annoys me the most, the fact that they need to "inform us" that a person is Muslim.

as long as non-believers don't fight against Islam/Muslims, they must be protected.
Islam believes that we must do justice in all respects, including in interacting with non-Muslims living in Muslim countries.
