It's hard at first, but it becomes second nature after a while. I've had about 5 years of teaching myself to play guitar, so I can do it by now without a problem. But when I was starting out, it was absolutely impossible. DX
I actually prefer singing with the guitar, though. Without it, I go ear-bleedingly off-key.

I don't think there should be an original song week, but you should be able to sing an original song week if the week's theme permits, like Chris Rene did.

Yes, we will have theme weeks and I will be meeting with the judges on them. This is a weekly contest, but there will be some shocking weeks where more than 1 person will be eliminated.

That will be up to you. The song needs to feel complete, like on Idol or the X - Factor. So keep that in mind. The minimum performance time is 90 seconds. The max is 4 minutes.
