I agree "Waiting For Tonight", "On The Floor", "Let's Get Loud", "Ain't It Funny" [Original], "Follow The Leader", & even several other non-single English tracks work so well for her because of the Latin elements and feel for that particular song. Whether it's a spanish guitar, saxophone, horns, or even some drums it's right in her field because it fits her voice. Although, she does sound great in some Hip-Hop/Funk tracks as well, and sometimes even with some assistance, the Latin-tinged tracks is really her expertise imo.
I remember she once called her music Latin Soul, but I feel like musically she's kinda losing her artistic touch and just following current trends. There always ways to stay modern and still keep true to ones self ala "On The Floor" a great dance-pop song with elements from "Llorando Se Fue". But songs like "Goin In" & "Papi" [although lyrics are somewhat Spanish] sound annoying, cheesy, generic, and they are forgettable.
Get back to the drawing board La Lopez. I need me a masterpiece next round!
This is what I want too! I feel like her Latin-y songs are more remembered than her English ones. Her genre should really stick to Latin (with English lyrics).
