New Retirement Rules
So I was kind of racking my brain the other night, thinking I should get rid of retirement. Because to be perfectly honest, it is doing my head in. So what I've decided to do is change Retirement into
"The Golden Songs", which just means that as soon as the songs hit 15 weeks they will just be given certifications and put on the Golden lists top songs. And once they do get on the list, they still can stay on the chart. If the songs do fall off the top 50, they are still eligible to re-enter the chart. And as for the songs that have retired, they can re-enter the chart, so next week look for a couple of songs re-entering.
5 Debuts & A Re Entry
This week I have debuted 5 songs, and re entered 1. The highest new entry this week, comes from the Just Stand Up To Cancer girls, with Just Stand Up. A host of huge female singers including Mariah Carey, Beyonce, Leona Lewis, Rihanna, Carrie Underwood, Miley Cyrus, Ciara, Melissa Etheridge, Fergie and many more. It debuts at #36. Next at #38, is a new British talent called Bryn Christopher. His second single, Smilin', is a great song which I all recommend you to try. At #43, we have the brand new Sugababes' single, Girls. The single has surfaced to radio playlists this week, so I'm starting to like it, but I'm not thinking it's their best start off single, the video looks hot as hell though. At #46, is Kanye West's double A-Side single, Good Morning/Champion. Two videos in under a month, both great videos by the way, and two great songs. Love it! And finally at #47, the first ever Jonas Brothers song to enter the chart. Burnin' Up. And this week's re entry is MIA's Paper Planes, it previously peaked at #26 in January, and because of the overwhelming success of the song in the States, I've started to play it more.
