Why are people pressed that Katy is doing 270-290K? So what? I'd rather my fave improve with +100K compared to the last album than my fave dropping from a cheated 1.1million 99 cents deal to less than 500K. I'm not a a pop gurl fan , but Katy has incredible longevity and will probably go on to sell 3 million copies.

35 pages of Little Monsters laughing at PRISM first week sales. Go get some air, please. These are not GREAT numbers, not even good, but are decent for someone like Katy Perry. She will probably have the second best first week sales by a female artists of this year, plus she also has longevity on her side. This era looks like it will be a Teenage Dream 2.0, promotion wise, of course, so we could expect it to hit at least 2 million by the end of its run.

Well, she only had 2 #1 hits when Teenage Dream (album) was released (I Kissed a Girl & California Girls) so 192k is kinda ok and it makes sense

But now after an era of hit after hit after HIT after HIT 300k and its an improvement?
She has 6 #1's since California Girls. She's the 'Female MJ'. She's the 'America's Sweetheart' 'America's BIGGEST export' 'America's BIGGEST Star since Britney Spears' WTF is up with these numbers?

'Roar' is one of the BIGGEST (if not the biggest) HITS of the year in the US and it has the BIGGEST opening in the US too. And the song is still sitting pretty at #2 in the US iTunes currently after 2 months and this is the best numbers Katy can give??? I know it might increase up to 350k since she still has a lot of promo lined up but these numbers are such disappointment let's be honest here

Wasn't this the winner in all the 'Most Anticipated albums of Q4' 'Most anticipated album of the year' 'Most anticipated albums by a pop girl' in every poll outside ATRL???

Prism first week sales it's ok for Katy. It's a improvement for her! Katy's key is the longevity and strong singles. She'll promote the album for two years. She'll be fine

Always and sad. People were crucifying me when I said that I do generalize this fan base. That's the way it is.
