This week, Ellie Goulding becomes the first artist to chart three titles simultaneously ("I Need Your Love" [with Calvin Harris], "Figure 8," and "Burn") since Kimbra did almost exactly one year ago. The songs Kimbra charted with were her two number ones, "Somebody That I Used To Know" (with Gotye) and "Warrior" (with Mark Foster and A-Trak), along with the five-peaking solo track "Settle Down." Kimbra hasn't yet managed to chart again since "Warrior," but Ellie is still going strong after tallying two prior top ten hits ("Lights" [#1] and "Anything Could Happen" [#8]). With these three songs, she is looking to add three more. Also on the horizon, Taylor Swift is looking to chart with three simultaneous titles as the title track from her fourth album prepares itself for an imminent chart launch alongside "22" and "Everything Has Changed."
Also this week, English chanteuse Lily Allen makes her first chart appearance since late 2011, when she appeared alongside T-Pain and Wiz Khalifa on "5 o'Clock" (#8). This song sampled its hook from "Who'd Have Known," which peaked at #5 in early 2010. Her guest cut on P!nk's "True Love" aspires to be Allen's first number one on the chart. She has come close three times, having peaked at #2 with "Smile," "Not Fair," and "**** You." Other hits include "LDN" (#10) and "The Fear" (#3).
