Okay gonna review track by track now that I've listened to the album half a dozen times!
Can't Remember To Forget You: 3/10 - it's not necessarily terrible, it's just extremely forgettable and the fact that they wasted Rihanna on this is just such a disappointment. A Shakira/Rihanna duet should have been a massive duet, but this song is just so dull. Honestly even a basic dance song would have been better than this for the Shak/Rih duet.
Empire: 10/10 - absolutely love this, it completely got my interest up for the album. I probably wouldn't have even bothered to download it if not for this song. It's just so beautiful. Hope it smashes.
You Don't Care About Me: N/A - for some odd reason, the version I downloaded didn't come with this song
Dare (La La La): 9/10 - I really really like this, especially the LA LA LA parts, but the dance breakdown is really weak. That's the only thing that brings this down. Otherwise it would be perfect.
Cut Me Deep: 10/10 - I love MAGIC! and this song is perfect. It's so random and out there, but it fits perfectly. Insanely catchy too. I think this could be an unexpected hit, especially if Rude takes off in the states.
23: 7/10 - I like this, it's sweet and earnest, but it's not a standout. And the bit with her baby (I presume) crying at the end is annoying. I hate babies, and everyone else has already done that.
The One Thing: 9/10 - Like this song a lot, it's simple and sweet and very Shakira.
Medicine: 7/10 - well this is certainly interesting. It's not one of my favorites, but it's certainly not bad. Blake wasn't really needed though, I feel like he doesn't add anything to the track.
Spotlight: 9/10 - I don't know why but I just love this one.
Broken Record: 9/10 - See above. (Not gonna lie though. The One Thing, Spotlight, and Broken Record kind of mesh together for me. Good thing I like all three of them.)
Loca Por Ti: 6/10 - it's fine. Not a huge fan of her Spanish songs, unless they're upbeat.
Chasing Shadows: 2/10 - don't get the love for this, it's very generic. I almost feel like they should have slowed it down and had it just with a piano. In it's current state, it reminds me of the TERRIBLE dance remix of John Legend's All Of Me. It feels like someone took a great ballad and tried to make it commercial and it just seems really basic.
That Way: 7/10 - a fine closer.
Overall I give it 7.5/10. Definitely a lot more than I was expecting from Shakira, and there are certainly a lot of solid tracks on the album. After Empire (hopefully) slays, I hope they do Dare as the summer / World Cup global smash (maybe with a remix... maybe with Nicki

), followed by Cut Me Deep in the fall
