You forget that people who work in the music industry are really incompetent. They probably saw Only One at #1 in dozens of countries and decided to rush-release this. It's like when Gaga started fighting with her team after her instant grat was #1 on iTunes everywhere. Few people understand how it works.
They thought this would be an easy hit to kick off the era.
