My GPA is tragic and seriously the only reason I'm worried about applying to big-name schools. I'm hoping my film supplements/portfolios will help. Like do they seriously care if someone who wants to be a film student got straight As in high school? And if so, why?!?!?!
Why would you apply to the big schools to study film? Mess.
The adultlife, getting a full time job in particular, depends on knowing the right people. You may be the smartest, most competent candidate for a job but without connections, there's a high chance that someone less deserving will get it.
!
Getting into a great school is only half the battle. You have to take advantage of the resources at the school and find opportunities to use what you learn in the classroom outside of it. Your GPA will only get you so far, many employers also look into how well you communicate/network with others and the projects or jobs/internships you took on while in school. That's how you stay ahead of the competition
You'll get into UF. Are you planning on early decision?
UM is my first choice and I'm not too worried about that sans my SAT/ACT & I'm doing early action for it, not early decision. But I'll apply to UF and see how it goes...
Mess. I literally am just sticking to Florida schools. #FloridaPrepaid

They're some of the best film schools in the country + they'll provide me with good connections + I can receive a great education even if I change majors
