Selena Gomez has said she looks up to BFF Vanessa Hudgens because she's older, but according to Vanessa, Selena doesn't need any advice from her.

"That girl is so smart and beautiful and talented and amazing," Vanessa told us at the jcpenney launch event for L'Amour Nanette Lepore last night in NYC, "She's got such a great head on her shoulders. I'm just there to hold her hand and have fun with her. I adore her!"

The girls spent lots of quality time together when they filmed their movie Spring Breakers, which also stars Ashley Benson and James Franco.

And while they had a blast, Vanessa says filming the more mature movie wasn't always easy.

"It was a very new experience working with Harmony [Korine, the director] and doing a movie like that," she explained. "It was tough. It wasn't all fun. It was hard work but it looks like it was a lot of fun. That's what counts!"

I really hope Spring Breakers and The Getaway do well for her. I kind of wish she was doing more roles like Shailene Woodley who also came out from a very popular show and is now on here way to becoming an A list movie star.

I agree. I mean Spring Breakers isn't going to do anything big for her. Let's be real. Hell from what I've read, Selena is the "good girl" in the movie so that kind of beats the point of "stepping out of my comfort zone" but w/e. And the Getaway? I just feel like it's going to be treated like Miley's latest movies...

They're both independent movies, so I'm not expecting a box office money maker. Spring breakers is most likely gonna make 7-15 million due to limited release and the getaway will do fine 15-30 million as it has Ethan hawke.
