Madonna's Erotica peaked at #3 on Hot 100 which was far more explicit than Partition, so I don't understand why it wouldn't smash. People were more conservative in 90s than they are now, so if people like it, they'll like it.
This weekend the owner at a this pub, who is also a lawyer was talking to me after bought me a drink and programmed my his number into my phone, we randomly got on the subject of this album. He said he bought it simply because he didn't want to feel like he was missing out on something monumental lol. He went on to call her a god and all... I fell in love, but not really.
Also, one of his lawyer friends was extremely drunk at the bar and she kept randomly singing "I woke up like disss".
I took a brief break from listening to the album, and just got back into it today, and WOW. My favorites have changed again. I have so much more love/respect for "Blow" and "No Angel".
The chorus/beat of "No Angel" sounds like it would have been in a huge rap/R&B song a la "Dilemma" in the early 00s.
I still thank the LORD that I found out about this album right after I came home from school around 1 PM. I seriously would've failed both midterms I took that day

This! I had finals on Friday so I went to bed early and didn't find out till a day and a half later. Thank goodness for that tho.
