Well, guys, from my point of view, as a psychofan of generic pop music and catchy choruses, I would die for generic Taylor since her pop singles are my favorite songs from her and Trouble is like my #1 song ever.
Yet I know what Max Martin is capable of. He does not respect someone's uniqueness, he robbed Taylor from that country sound people fell for. His beats sound the same, he's using proven methods. Even if she manages to produce several smash hits from the LP5, you can guess she's going nowhere. Her album sales will drop. People don't buy albums of artists they hear everyday on the radio, whose songs are ubiquitous.
This era is so going to be a Red 2.0 with a poppier sound. Taylor (or her team) clearly wants to expand globally, forgetting about local country radio and fanbase whom she owes those huge sales. Lemme say it again - a typical pop artist ain't gonna sell tons of albums. Taylor was unique, her sound was unique. She was one of a kind and now she's going to be completely absorbed by this generic industry. Not to mention her fellow pop stars like Rihanna or Katy Perry have always been generic and probably can better adapt to trending changes. I'm afraid Taylor will deliver 2010 and late type of music. Just like 22.
I know it's too early to predict anything and some of you believe Max Martin will craft the album lovingly, but you must face the truth. It's a guy who produced Generic-22 and Talk Dirty rip-off called Problem. By working with him, Taylor agrees to abandon her Unique Factor in favor of chart positions and globalness lasting one, two eras.
