collin is a lot of things (
BAD TASTE'D particularly comes to mind), but yeah, he doesn't go after Bey for her warranted activism.
And I also agree with him on the Madonna front. I read the RollingStones profile on her (I still have it in my room, it's one of my faves) and she's very clear why she got into gay activism in the 80s. The government wasn't doing anything to remedy HIV/AIDS and there was no public voice on the matter. Her friends were dying left and right so she organized shows to raise money and awareness for more research and care into HIV/AIDS.
At the time she was ridiculed even by GAY people who were wary of her motivations, but really in the end, her activism was more than necessary under those circumstances. And so she became a fixture in the gay community for her unrelenting advocacy of LGBT rights through her music, imagery, and politics.
