that critics kiss ass 2 much.
That's not only true of the black issues, they are biased towards certain themes also. Like darker albums are usually seen as "deeper" / "more authentic", etc.
it's just a part of internal bias. & I think critics bandwagon each other too. like if one sees that 9 other critics gave it a 100, they'd no doubt increase their score if it was originally a 60. because they might lose "credibility" if not.
im convinced the latter part is why kanye has maintained critical acclaim
