Benedict Cumberbatch is really ruining this second one for me. He's not a compelling enough villain plus I hate him
The first one was fantastic. I even bought it on DVD because I loved it so much. The second one was a bit of a disappointment to me. It was really more focused on cool looking action scenes and the actual plot suffered because of it. But that's JJ Abrams for you, he's SO hit or miss with his work

I enjoy the sequel but like I agree that the plot is lacking depth and like I said Khan isn't the big epic villian i'd expect to see in a huge blockbuster like this. I'm excited for next years threequel though
